Why did you make this mod pack so difficult? Why did you have to add HQM? Why does my scythe hate me using it? What is life even worth anymore? Before it was a thriving community of people who wanted to make Gensokyo a better place, but now everyone struggles to survive because you can apparently die in creative and everything is now harder than a 14 year old in a strip club.
That is all.

We wanted to simulate how it would be for Humans to live in the wilderness of Gensokyo. While it is a magical fantasy world, it is still deadly to humans, so keeping it at Normal would be a bit unrealistic. HQM is set up to help the player start from scratch with the different magical mods and to show you how you can advance. Weapons like the scythe require you to have a high level to use them. (Don't quote me on this, ask Aya just in case.)
I hope this explanation shall suffice and that you enjoy your time in Gensokyo. If you need help, ask other players, because some people have already set up bases.

Well, in my opinion HQM is a good mod but it still should be optional, because THIS may happen otherwise...

Well, should I add back the plugin then? I know you all dont know what I wanted the pack to be X3 But I dont know, maybe its ok if I change some stuff if noone likes it :<
I added HQM so people could get unobtainable items, get started with unknown mods, and get more health not depending on your xp level. You are not supposed to do the quests if you dont want to, you can just go to a strip mine or get loot bags and get crystal hearts normally.
Pickaxes arent disabled, they just have different mining levels.
This is it, maybe some people havent read the mangas, just want to play in peace, or cant see how lethal touhou really is, but this is how I see it: This is Gensokyo, a time when Miku were still serious, and the Youkai extermination was still a thing; Humans aren't wellcome here, and if you're one I have bad news for you... Youkai dont like you, and you must find shelter or have it for sure that you wont survive the night. As you'd expect, there are ways you can become a Youkai, its even better if you can achieve immortality, but of course you cant stop being human; Human and Youkai... not a good combination... when you think about it maybe its not that bad! A little fella might join your side, but still you wont be able to hug a cute fairy.
Just like other people, you were taken to Gensokyo by Yukari because your level of Inteligence, Magic, or Strenght, far surpasses the one of a normal Human to the point to be considered as supernatural. She didnt say a thing, well... because Yukari is a Yukari and she doesnt want to reveal the secret, but you promised fish to Chen, and Chen is cute af, she told you it had something to do with something being the resurrection of some sort of entity... and then Ran hit you with an Onbashira kidnaped Chen and ran away with Yukari. All you know now is that you must find shelter, or at least find someone that can help you survive, friendly fairies will help you, you are still a normal Human so you mean no harm, even Tengu are forced to help, as they swore to protect Humans on their way to a better place, that doesnt include Human-Youkai as a downside.
As fast as wind, the rumors of a Human living with Youkai reached the peaceful Hakurei Shrine, home of a relatively new Miko in the bussiness of Shrine Maiden; as expected, the habitants of the village got worried, and the Shrine Maiden was forced to go meet the new stranger before something bad happened. As the days pass, you begin to harvest the resources of your world, you notice your soul grows in strenght as you gather more and more power 点, and the weak magic you began to learn is now helping you deal with dangerous creatures.
You soon learn that Humans can turn into Youkai if certain rituals are performed, but bad stuff can happen in the process, and dealing with monsters is not what you wish; in look for answers you finally turn yourself to the unknown Miko, she turns out to be Hakurei Reimu, an extremely beautiful Shrine Maiden with the gift of using any god's powers at will, you hope that she will be of great help, because she looks like a good person, but there is one big problem... the miko you just met, is in the bussiness of Youkai extermination, and her personal goal is to exterminate, completely obliterate, Human-Youkai... After a long danmaku battle, and many many spells, you manage to defeat her with really bad injuries. The news spread like dinamite, and the person in charge of the borders of Gensokyo, lady Yukari Yakumo, challenges you to a final fight in exchange for your lost memories.

So I think it's just me glitching but it seems like it's healing zombies that I hit. Was that on purpose? Also now I understand but maybe add the mod that gives level up points whatever it's called

That mod was removed because the owner never responder to the message I sent and I forgot, its called levelup! I think :<

Have to admit, I am not the biggest fan of the new difficulty either, but I guess I can live with it. There is just one thing that irritates me immensely: Hunger Overhaul. Sure, having to be efficient with your food does add to the realism and certainly the difficulty, but I feel it is just a bit too much. Have you actually eaten a baked potato irl, because they are unbelievably saturating, way more than just the one drumstick they provide. I would suggest tweaking the nutrition values a bit and making the food stack size 64 again. Or, you know, I wouldnt complain if it was removed entirely. I dont acutally get the fuss about HQM. As far as I can see, the quests are not too hard and, as Aya pointed out already, not at all compulsory. The modpack is certainly still playable, you just drastically changed your target audience.

Now that I have a flaming scythe, hunger is now a mild annoyance, but WHY DOES STUFF NOT CRAFT AND WHEN IT DOES IT SOMETIMES COMPLETELY VANISHES FROM REALITY? I had 3 and they all completely disappeared when I tried to craft something and now they're gone forever.
